I am Dimitris Karlis, an Audio Post Production Specialist and voice over artist based in Thessaloniki, with over 25 years of experience in sound design, mixing, mastering, foley recording, dialogue editing and ADR, voice over, dubbing and localization. I create audio for TV commercials, radio ads, documentaries and corporate projects from a fully equipped home studio. A former radio show host, I also compose and produce music.

Where the work happens.
Recording Setup
Every voice over is recorded in an AVB 3 vocal booth, using Neumann TLM 102 and RØDE NT1000 microphones. The signal runs through Avid MBOX Studio and Audient iD4 interfaces into Pro Tools, and everything is monitored on Yamaha HS8 studio monitors, with Sennheiser HD 400 PRO and AKG K271 MKII headphones for close detail work.
Software & Instruments
Avid Pro Tools sits at the center of every project, backed by FabFilter, Waves, UAD and Soundtoys plugins for mixing and iZotope RX for audio restoration. Real instruments are always at hand: a Gibson Les Paul Tribute and a Fender Player Plus Telecaster, a Yamaha acoustic-electric guitar, a Fender Player Series Precision Bass, and a Neural DSP Nano Cortex for amp and effects tones.

How do we start a project together?
Email me at contact@dkarlis.com with the project details (script, duration, usage) and I will reply with a proposal and a delivery time.
What do you need from me for a voice over?
The script, notes on tone, duration and usage (TV, radio, online). If you have a guide track or a video, send it along.
Do you record remotely?
Yes. I record from my own studio and deliver the files online, so we can work together from anywhere.
What kinds of productions do you take on?
TV commercials, radio ads, documentaries and corporate projects, including dubbing, localization, dialogue editing and ADR.
Do you take on mixing or mastering only?
Yes. You can send me your own material for sound design, mixing, mastering or audio restoration separately.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the project. We agree on a delivery time before starting.
Are revisions possible?
Yes. We agree upfront on the scope of revisions, so the result comes out the way you want it.
